Game portals are dying - Buy up the ones that will sell.

Buy Yahoo games.  They don't care about it.  Find the right partner and take over the URL. Just redirecting games.yahoo.com would be enough traffic to take over the internet.  I'm talking to you Zynga, Kongregate and Armorgames. You should join forces and grab it.  Someone will!

Totally. I think if a company has the money, they should get a hold of a piece of Yahoo or another older portal. Look at Candystand? They were sold last year? I think the next of the old portals to go might be Real Games (known to be for sale)
These companies built off there access to huge audiences made boat loads of cash in the try-before-you buy world post 2001 tech bubble but now? They need to adapt again. I know...I work at one!

I've seen it too. It is what allowed BFG to take such a huge slice of the market just a few years back as the market was there, but the older portals didn't do much to keep it. Now their game portals only exist thanks to how large the parent web portals are. If I managed one of the big sites, and was given some capital to work with I believe I could change this for one of these sites, but I'd rather work on my own projects.
