Fear and loathing on the 6 train
Every morning I get up and drink coffee like everyone else. Sadly, I know within minutes if its going to be a good or bad day. I wake up moody and off my game. This morning I even criticized my wife's workout intensity! Yuck!
How does this apply to work? Well I end up going to work with fear and loathing on my mind. Fear that I don't know what I am doing or that our latest plans suck and we'll fail. All this snowballs into loathing. Loathing that I get into these states and loathing that I can't do more to save the day.
How does one get out of it? For me I tried to eat my way out! Little egg, sausage and cheese sandwich - didn't work. Next I do some reading - this time it made it worse. Lastly, I lean on the music of the day, in this case it worked! (Thank you R.Kelly for the irony of a Little Bump and Grind!)
