The Web Ain’t Dead Yet, Bitches.

Inspired by a recent blog post by the venerable Seth Godin, I’m inspired to write about the web not being near dead.
1. It’s still very young.
2. Where do you think Facebook, YouTube and Google started. (hint it starts with W and ends in -eb)
3. It’s an open platform with accepted standards that are not changing (too much). You know the rules of the game on the web.  (Ask the Twitter developers about how that’s going)
4. Lots of people know how to work on it,  lots of people use it, it’s still pretty goddamn big.  See if you can find an Android or iOS who is any good and doesn’t cost you an arm and leg.  (Hey, there are still web developers out there)
5.  Eventually you have to be on the web.  You can start as a mobile app, or a Facebook app or whatever else is out there eventually,  you need to be on the good ol’ http.  Don’t worry,  it’ll be here when you are ready.
6.  Everything on the “new” platforms that is unique can be migrated to the web.  Oh Facebook viral channels? Oh newsfeeds? Or short messages?  The web can do that, no really it can.  It’s possible but we’re enamored with shiny.
What else can the web do?  Chime in
