When you meet someone and you label them “racist”, “hillbilly” or “stupid” for disagreeing with you or thinking that all Trump voters are dumb, you are engaging in CONSERVATIVE thought. Conservative thought, in that they are innate in their beliefs, that they cannot be changed because they are that way.
A true liberal, sees us all as equal and that a persons situation is what brings them into their sphere of influence. That these people have succumb to hatred because they are missing the love of society to feel valued. Liberal thought believes that we can progress people to feel loved by the government and their fellow citizen. That inherently they are good and can be bent toward the light of historical progress.
American society has moved toward conservative views. A rigidity that we think one is inherently who they are. The left and the right are thinking the same way. Both conservative.
