Writing is hard. You need things to talk about. I nearly forgot to write today. Then I watched David Letterman interview Dave Chapelle on Netflix and off my brain went… First, I thought? Jesus. It’s early maybe I should go for a walk? Then? Hey, I need to watch the UEFA Champions League highlights show? Opened the laptop and WHAM!!! FUCK I have to write something.
So here I am. When I listen to Dave Chappelle I feel inspired. He’s so smart, so self aware and great communicator. As all great comedians are, he sees the world in a special way. There is no bullshit. No talking point. Nothing. He is always himself. I’d like to think I have some of that. I think Chappelle and I are the same age… so he speaks to me. We have the same cultural context and I get him. I’d like to think we could be friends or at least have a good conversation.
