Thats how easy it is to stop. (I almost forgot to post)

Making the commitment to writing a post everyday is the easy part. Getting to day 5 is the easy part. Every day becomes more and more of a routine. And no this isn’t about not having time. I must have easily spent 6 hours watching sports this weekend. The pain and the reason we don’t do the thing is effort, mental energy and the ‘doing’ Doing nothing is easy. Reading social media is easy. Watching television (or consuming content, whatever we’re calling it these days) is easy. Sitting down and thinking of something new, some thought you had in your head and putting it into the word is hard.

Why is it hard? Because it’s a commitment to saying something. It’s a marker, a stake in the ground that sets what you thought and what was in your mind into the world. Now, I’m not saying anything controversial in this post, but it is giving of myself. These words are mine, they aren’t really how I think, or what I am thinking because I can’t write as well as I can think! (which sucks!)

One thing though and this is something to think about for the social media posters out there. (N Jay Bee, I’m thinking of you) why not just take your wonderful posts and host them on a blog and point people there? I know its easier to post on social… but owning it valuable.

Thats it. Thats the post.
