World history and culture is a study in unifying and breaking apart. Unifying again then breaking apart. Rome unified and spread Latin then broke apart. Roman Catholic Church unified and broke apart into Protestantism. It’s part of human history to come together then break.
We’ve spent most of the second half of the 20th century unifying under the Pax Americana. English is now the language of business around the world. But it seems we are in the break apart phase? Not sure how long it will take or what form it will take but we are in a post-unified phase of history.
And what will the next unifying force?
