hello and welcome to the squeaky bum

00:03

time podcast with mike and laurent it is

00:06

friday october 22nd in this episode

00:10

united save all a again we all wanted

00:13

him to lose so he would go away you will

00:15

do our use our champions league roundup

00:17

liverpool were lucky chelsea and city

00:19

first class but first mike

00:22

you went to live

00:23

soccer in america

00:26

in person

00:27

tell us all about the orlando pride

00:31

uh yeah um so is my third mls game ever

00:35

that's the i don't know who doesn't

00:36

matter i think it's just orlando city fc

00:38

but uh sc down here i've been here four

00:41

years uh i've never gone i've actively

00:43

avoided it uh i think mls is terrible

00:46

i've been to a few games before

00:47

um

00:48

and i went with a few friends i had a

00:50

great time uh it's it's a fun

00:54

time out right but you know and you have

00:56

a good time you have a couple of beers

00:57

and it's fine um the quality of play is

01:01

never mistaking what it actually is

01:04

right uh they're missing ten foot passes

01:07

everything's three to four steps slower

01:08

than you would you know normally watch

01:10

in any other european league

01:12

um

01:13

the quality is just it's just it's

01:15

lacking right and you know that going in

01:18

so you you have that as an appreciation

01:20

and i found myself sitting there kind of

01:22

going like well

01:25

why right like why did they

01:29

effectively

01:30

push away the fifa calendar why are they

01:33

going against the green calendar the

01:34

calendar right like that's kind of the

01:36

main thing i kept thinking because i

01:37

feel like that's the the biggest pain

01:39

point for them in

01:41

having

01:42

european quality talent right i think

01:45

that there's a number of problems

01:46

obviously but

01:48

the

01:49

consistency or the inconsistency with

01:50

the calendar

01:52

um is a decision that they made what 30

01:54

years ago uh and why did they do that i

01:56

have a couple of theories one

01:58

is they looked at it and they said we're

02:00

going to try and capture

02:02

the latin market

02:04

latino market and in doing so they're

02:05

gonna be on song with the mexican league

02:07

they're going to be on song with the

02:08

south american mexican league is split

02:11

they're not even on well at the time the

02:13

mexican league was that way yeah right

02:14

right and that's what i mean so they

02:16

were like okay we're going to align with

02:17

effectively our neighbors

02:19

and continue to lean into that latin

02:21

market as opposed to

02:24

the european market now they couldn't

02:26

have foreseen that you know it would

02:28

have become huge it's ironic that

02:31

soccer football is in america has become

02:33

so big

02:34

despite what the mls does right like

02:37

it's not everything so i think i think

02:39

the thing that's interesting is mls has

02:42

lots of problems it is to be fair from a

02:45

business perspective doing really well

02:48

on some sort of ponzi scheme

02:51

thank you yeah

02:52

they do not make money on television

02:55

barely they don't dent ratings

02:58

locally some teams do okay lafc

03:01

um orlando is one of them orlando does

03:03

well locally but

03:05

they had a derby in new york and it was

03:07

empty right that's

03:09

bad right that should not happen um so

03:12

there's that there are local markets

03:13

that do seattle portland that's a really

03:15

working market uh you can see toronto

03:18

when it's good does well uh but dallas

03:21

is a catastrophe

03:23

that just doesn't work

03:25

there they are selling players all the

03:27

time um the galaxy are really dependent

03:30

on stars

03:31

i think

03:32

there are two big errors that i see

03:35

errors just issues that i see one is

03:38

it's run by nfl people who run it like

03:41

the nfl where they really do want stars

03:45

and they think that there is a

03:46

quarterback version of this game

03:49

where you can pit player against player

03:51

and aside from messi and ronaldo that's

03:53

not the history of the game it's really

03:56

there are maestros they are there are

03:58

players that transcend it but mostly

04:00

it's about your team being good

04:02

uh and we and our structure is not

04:05

designed to make teams right we don't

04:07

like to spread the wealth evenly we want

04:09

superstars that run the game like if it

04:11

was i'm sure if it was up to the mls

04:13

they changed the rules so that there's

04:15

one player on the team who cannot be

04:17

touched right like they would do

04:18

something

04:20

right

04:20

flag on the play right exactly and and i

04:23

and i i do think about the quality i do

04:26

think about pro rel i do think the

04:30

calendar thing is

04:32

it depends what we want to lean on like

04:35

what does the mls

04:37

want to be strategically right like in

04:41

the world soccer thing i think that's

04:42

the piece that's missing i think

04:44

business-wise they're doing well they

04:46

get the stadium experience they get that

04:48

there's local people but where do they

04:50

want to fit in in world football do they

04:53

want to be

04:54

part of latino do they want to be a con

04:56

me ball kind of that style or do they

04:59

want to be european and i think the fact

05:01

that it's both is the problem yeah it

05:05

has certainly has an identity crisis and

05:06

i think you know we were talking about

05:08

it before we started recording and um

05:10

i think the weather is way too much of a

05:12

factor for them and they're they're

05:13

avoiding intentionally and again these

05:15

are decisions that were made through 25

05:17

30 teams play in [ __ ] sweden shut the

05:19

[ __ ] up right in december and january

05:22

and and that's

05:23

that's where i'm like okay

05:25

they were going for

05:27

a lot of the summer months right where

05:29

you're not competing with the nfl nba

05:31

you're only competing but it makes for

05:32

bad soccer because you're playing when

05:33

it's 4 000 degrees exactly especially in

05:36

orlando down here right and and yeah so

05:39

you're already at a loss

05:41

for the quality and you are you're

05:44

you're putting more obstacles in the way

05:46

not removing them um but but again when

05:48

you're making these decisions in the mid

05:51

early 90s right whatever it was mid 90s

05:54

i think

05:55

there's a restart it's really garber

05:58

getting the league down to 10 and then

05:59

restarting so you really mls is sucky in

06:03

the 90s it's some other league and then

06:05

there's a rebirth like in 2002 or

06:07

something okay sure but so let's call it

06:09

o2

06:10

why don't you then

06:12

upset the apple card and go okay we're

06:14

going to go on the european schedule now

06:16

because

06:17

you're trying to keep it sustainable

06:19

right you're not worried about what it

06:21

can be what it might be and again

06:23

there's something

06:24

sustainable by virtue of a franchise

06:26

model the league isn't going anywhere i

06:28

understand

06:29

yeah no no what i'm saying is growing it

06:31

into

06:32

what would effectively be if you're if

06:35

you're weaponizing all the quality of

06:37

the

06:38

theoretically of the united states and

06:39

all that money that you're waiting to to

06:41

kind of rake in

06:43

you're not worried about the ceiling

06:45

you're worried about being legitimate

06:46

essentially and

06:48

um

06:50

where

06:51

where a lot of the other leagues come in

06:52

again in o2 there was no renaissance

06:55

there was no espn or nbc i mean espn was

06:59

very very brilliant

07:01

but there is a there is now

07:03

more place and more value in live sports

07:06

than ever

07:06

i think the other issue is

07:09

that i think was probably unforeseen

07:13

is

07:14

2013

07:16

nbc

07:17

rebecca lowe broadcasting yeah every

07:20

game into the us and basically going

07:24

this is what real football looks like

07:26

not two games a week not just arsenal

07:28

not just men united once a week with

07:31

mecca and ian dark where you kind of was

07:33

on but a full-on onslaught we are going

07:37

to take

07:38

the most established popular league i

07:41

don't know if it's the best quality

07:42

that's that's to be debated

07:44

it is

07:46

a built-in

07:48

english speaking historically known

07:50

league that just basically saturated the

07:53

entire us market and while the ratings

07:57

are not great just

07:59

be clear about that like an mls game on

08:01

a sunday night does okay and to this day

08:04

and it's

08:06

very

08:07

racist i don't have a better way to put

08:09

it or whatever that mexican league games

08:11

in the us are the most watched games in

08:13

the u.s period full stop don't tell me

08:16

that mls is bigger the fact is club

08:18

america on a saturday night on

08:21

television in the us spanish language or

08:23

otherwise is the biggest game on

08:25

television sure it's bigger than men

08:27

united liverpool it just is right so

08:29

that's an important piece and so right

08:32

now garber is now trying to like

08:34

be in both places you have everyone

08:36

being rebranded fc

08:38

and getting european money and trying to

08:40

sell to europe

08:41

culture while culturally trying to be

08:43

connected to south america and and the

08:46

other thing is how do you

08:49

the question is is does do off does all

08:52

football float all boats

08:55

right does the premier league float

08:57

football in this country

09:00

no that's a question i don't know and i

09:02

think i don't think so to your point

09:04

what it it could

09:06

it could

09:08

if the mls

09:10

really was a path to the premier league

09:13

exactly

09:14

right

09:15

then you would you would say if we could

09:18

have like the relationship as like the

09:19

championship like this team is coming up

09:21

you see nikola pepe goes from dallas

09:25

to

09:26

a championship club like bournemouth

09:28

into

09:30

aston villa

09:31

then you have a path of just like oh my

09:33

guy went from here to there right yeah

09:36

but that's not really happening our

09:38

players are going to germany that's not

09:39

is that lifting germany

09:42

i think it's they we talked about it a

09:44

while ago it's it's creating and

09:46

it's finding and monetizing an

09:48

inefficiency you know who it's lifting

09:50

is rb leipzig you know germany yeah

09:53

that's what i mean right in terms of

09:54

quality but then they have their other

09:56

problem like they can't really get

09:57

traction either the thing is with

09:58

germany it's not just american players

10:00

young english players are going to

10:01

germany too they just are the place to

10:04

grow because the germans like i'm not

10:06

paying for this because we have a cap we

10:08

don't have sheiks

10:10

we don't do it this way there's only one

10:11

rich team and it's bayern and they just

10:13

buy the the cream off the top right and

10:16

i will say yeah i got to see

10:18

um spurs rumored legend alexander pato

10:23

the man who was linked to oh that guy

10:25

every now oh that guy every window for

10:27

about a decade holy [ __ ] he still made a

10:30

glass and it was funny like he like he

10:32

would make a run and then he would just

10:34

stop and be like you guys stink like

10:36

[Laughter]

10:38

it was awesome he was actually coming up

10:39

he was famous because he had like one

10:42

incredible season

10:45

he had actually had three the three

10:46

seasons at ac milan and then just died

10:49

yes right he just went everywhere he had

10:51

one half of a loan at chelsea and now

10:54

he's like kind of hanging out at orlando

10:57

but he's been gone forever the funny

10:59

thing is about some of these guys is

11:01

he's still just 32 but his legend has

11:05

left him yeah

11:07

and uh i think we should probably

11:08

transition to another legend uh and that

11:11

is ollie gunner sochar who's a [ __ ]

11:13

legend at manchester united but in our

11:17

champions league roundup we can go

11:18

through all the games but there's really

11:19

only one story and it's

11:23

united getting saved again

11:26

ola getting saved again

11:29

i just don't know what to do with this

11:30

team this is what they do

11:32

uh they

11:33

go down two goals at home

11:36

it's fred and mctominay it's the same

11:39

crew they run it all back

11:41

uh lindelof gets done for a goal

11:44

doesn't close someone down maguire gets

11:46

done for a goal and a set piece again

11:49

uh he doesn't seem to move refrigerator

11:51

uh mcguire and united are down at the

11:53

half and as texted the i texted you and

11:56

chartered just like please [ __ ]

11:57

christ let this happen again

12:01

but to allah's credit and the one thing

12:04

that he does have

12:06

with this team

12:08

aside from tactics and patterns which we

12:09

know he doesn't is there is a connection

12:12

to the crowd to the passion to the to

12:15

the energy and passion of united right

12:18

that's the one thing that i give all a

12:20

credit for he

12:22

somehow as a legend is connected

12:25

at a visceral

12:27

people level right like yeah the crowd

12:30

at united once they got their goal from

12:32

rashford it was an amazing goal

12:34

rashford made a run that i don't know

12:36

how he saw it to make the run and that's

12:39

his best trait and fernandez made a pass

12:42

that

12:43

is one of these like these two guys are

12:45

[ __ ] incredible and i think rashford

12:47

does make it different for them he's

12:48

been out and he scores it takes takes it

12:50

really well

12:51

and then old trafford just turns to

12:54

[ __ ] an attack war zone

12:56

to levels of anfield it just did and

12:59

that's amazing about united they have

13:02

i'm jealous

13:04

city does not have that that's what

13:05

people when people say empty head that's

13:07

what they mean yeah city does not turn

13:10

into

13:11

a

13:12

pack of [ __ ] joyous attack wolves

13:15

that are ready for blood and want to see

13:18

their team just kill anything that moves

13:20

it just doesn't have that let's go back

13:22

to

13:23

let's go back to rashford for a second

13:24

because like you said he was he's great

13:26

and as you said he was he was out for a

13:28

while and united were sorely missing him

13:30

despite the fact that they have sancho

13:31

and they have bruno and they have

13:32

ronaldo and all these stars he's right

13:34

he's different from them though but he's

13:36

the well

13:37

and and from a tactical perspective and

13:39

i'll let you get into that in a second

13:40

but

13:41

he transfers that olay

13:44

that that old spirit of united is

13:49

he is one of their own is exactly what i

13:51

was about to say so yeah that matters

13:53

that [ __ ] matters and that's one of

13:54

the

13:55

dna through lines of ferguson is

13:58

we want our kids in the team class of 92

14:02

all that stuff it matters he's i think

14:04

united had and i'm not even exaggerating

14:06

had something like 30 seasons in a row

14:08

where a kid from the academy made their

14:10

debut like it's been part of something

14:13

that they do and that goes back to busby

14:15

that goes back to 50s that goes back to

14:17

the munich air disaster that goes all

14:19

the way back so that's part of

14:21

the whole thing right um and as much as

14:24

you love seeing ronaldo when it's when

14:26

it is one of your own and i know this as

14:28

well as anybody it hits different right

14:30

and it's

14:31

it creates this that's my [ __ ] guy

14:34

and you just instead of ronaldo doing

14:36

something good where you're like oh my

14:37

god he's so incredible it's like that

14:39

that could have been me out there i love

14:40

it even more it goes even more because

14:43

it become it goes into the local part

14:46

like not only is rashford a united kid

14:48

he's from manchester yes he's from the

14:51

ghetto it would be as though

14:53

it would be as though

14:56

derek jeter had been from the bronx

14:59

right but

15:00

when you're down to nothing boom

15:02

explosion right when you're down two

15:03

nothing at halftime bruno fernandez is

15:05

annoyed right jason is annoyed

15:08

but rashford is disgusted rashford is

15:11

saying this the things in the locker

15:13

room that they're saying in the terraces

15:14

right he's the same person yes and

15:17

that's the important thing is that he's

15:18

the guy who's getting there in players

15:21

faces and saying get your [ __ ] together

15:23

we're gonna go with this oh there was a

15:24

controversy after the game

15:27

ole

15:28

basically called him out to the mat of

15:29

just like now you can start focusing on

15:31

football as a as as though rashford was

15:34

like not

15:36

like feeding kids

15:38

was yeah was i'm like ollie you're an

15:40

idiot you picked the wrong dude like

15:42

yeah

15:42

i was like yeah you know what maybe

15:44

feeding kids is more important than

15:46

playing football i'm just so we'll talk

15:48

about united a lot more in the second

15:49

half of the show uh before their

15:51

upcoming game against liverpool let's

15:52

keep it moving to chelsea who

15:54

roll right through with i think there's

15:56

a four nothing win but that's really not

15:58

the headline right um they're going to

16:00

lose teemo werner which you could argue

16:02

is addition by subtraction but lukaku

16:05

went down as well

16:06

is there the latest on lukaku have you

16:08

heard anything i haven't heard anything

16:09

it was a knock the guy just went through

16:11

him and malmo were [ __ ] awful they

16:13

had two shots none on target you know

16:15

this was a complete master class like

16:18

these are where the champions league

16:19

you're just like no

16:21

they're oh and three

16:22

haven't scored a goal and given up 11.

16:24

like this is

16:26

also i want to say malmo also the club

16:30

that um

16:31

only gunner still shower was the coach

16:32

for before he came to united so that's

16:34

the level we're talking about so uh

16:36

through line there but yeah i think the

16:38

big thing for you for for chelsea is

16:40

they're both out a month at least

16:42

yeah pretty bad ones muscular ones a

16:44

real knock like somebody went through

16:46

lukaku uh lukaku is really good about

16:49

coming back the irony of it was was that

16:51

tukul was saying this week oh he's

16:53

mentally tired oh he's fatigued and then

16:56

he played him against malmo what the

16:57

[ __ ] are you doing like one out of one

16:59

mouth into the other

17:01

if there is a team that can handle it

17:03

it's it's it's chelsea like it might

17:05

mean

17:06

now that

17:08

um

17:09

havarts has to play the nine it might

17:11

mean that

17:12

you know mount will play all the time so

17:15

they have the players it might shift how

17:17

they play they may end up actually being

17:18

more creative

17:20

and have to play more like city do with

17:22

the rotating pieces everywhere versus

17:25

this number nine that kind of doesn't

17:26

press so they actually might be better

17:28

uh one of the things just one thing to

17:30

go back on you mentioned about united

17:33

the difference that rashford makes

17:35

is he's the only one of their frontline

17:37

guys that just runs

17:39

they all want to come to the ball sancho

17:41

wants to be on the ball ronaldo wants to

17:43

be on the ball he goes fernandez wants

17:44

to be on the ball he's the only one he

17:46

kind of plays for an analogy plays more

17:48

like vardy right he just goes and if you

17:51

see the balls the way that fernandez

17:54

does it makes a difference because

17:55

everything just starts to open up so

17:56

that's just the difference in terms of

17:58

play

17:59

but yeah i mean this was easy for them

18:01

they had no problem chelsea move on and

18:04

shouldn't have a problem with anything

18:07

they have the depth to handle it and

18:09

then they they have a really

18:11

like chelsea are lucky they have a get

18:13

healthy stretch like they're gonna

18:15

they're gonna prepare for the narrative

18:17

to be that chelsea are gonna win the

18:19

league here are their next four fixtures

18:21

norwich southampton

18:24

newcastle malmo again burnley yeah they

18:27

don't play anyone

18:29

then they play

18:31

leicester and united but that's gonna be

18:33

15 points for 15. easily for sure unless

18:36

something goes wrong

18:37

well sure which could happen but like

18:39

you walk into those going and we'll talk

18:41

about it in the best bet segment heavily

18:42

heavily 500 plus favorites right yeah

18:45

yeah so so so luca so so even

18:49

chelsea have a little wobble they lose

18:51

some of their guys

18:52

but

18:53

they have about as easy as schedule as

18:55

they can have they're also i wanna yeah

18:57

the the forgotten man the for the

18:59

actually forgotten man it's christian

19:00

pool is sick who is hurt again but the

19:02

forgotten man for me is uh hakum ziak

19:04

who i think is he's coming back from a

19:06

knock i don't know exactly but he seems

19:08

like he's also this is this is what i

19:10

brought up when they when when lampard

19:12

was there i was like

19:13

this team is tiny

19:15

oh yeah you know absolutely the front

19:17

line guys they have guys with steel but

19:20

that group of

19:21

mount ziac

19:23

havertz

19:24

last season i just always thought that

19:26

they were and werner i thought that they

19:28

were always too small and that's kind of

19:31

you could push them off the ball and

19:32

then giorgino sorry i forgot about him

19:33

and then kante is plays like a giant but

19:36

he's

19:37

five yeah he's 130 pounds soaking wet

19:39

and so you can muscle them

19:42

yeah no you absolutely can but i think

19:43

that they'll like we said

19:45

they're

19:46

getting hurt at the right time i suppose

19:48

right if there ever was a time to have

19:51

you're also going to have another

19:52

international break in there in a few

19:53

weeks now in three weeks i think um so

19:57

realistically when you hear when you

19:58

hear

19:59

like lukaku is gonna miss a month you're

20:00

like [ __ ]

20:02

that's gonna be five or six games um but

20:04

it's it's realistically it's gonna

20:06

effectively become

20:07

uh probably two to three and when like

20:10

we said when we look at the schedule

20:12

it's really not many at all so um let's

20:15

get into liverpool one of the games

20:18

getting a water

20:20

one of the uh games of the early part of

20:22

the games of the season um and it's

20:24

you know um liverpool back and forth

20:27

back and forth griezmann with uh the

20:29

the shout out

20:31

the gordy howard hat trick i was going

20:33

to say the lamella eric women was

20:34

special um two goals in a red card uh

20:38

to bring to bring atletico level yeah

20:40

the place goes bonkers because it's away

20:44

at madrid

20:45

uh

20:46

again this was van dyke's probably worst

20:50

defensive showing yeah since he's been

20:52

back

20:53

uh and this was the best game griezmann

20:55

has played he's kind of slowly getting

20:57

back into the good graces of the real of

20:59

the of the athletic fans being like i

21:01

want to leave i want to go to barcelona

21:03

go to barcelona like you're a [ __ ]

21:05

athletic player and we have messi i want

21:07

to leave barsa i want to go back to

21:09

atlanta well speaking of ponzi schemes

21:11

right we talked about a few weeks ago

21:12

how barsa basically got had

21:15

in that deal so

21:17

uh with the end of the 140 sold them for

21:19

40. yeah yeah that's what it was um

21:22

but yeah i mean you know in liverpool

21:25

once they went a man up even though it

21:26

was only griezmann it wasn't like they

21:28

lost any shape and it was so the funny

21:30

thing about it was

21:32

when you watch it in real time it just

21:33

looked like a little regular high boot

21:35

but once you saw it in replay i was like

21:37

oh he [ __ ] yeah he's gotta go

21:40

he's gotta go although we did not talk

21:42

about this because arsenal had played

21:45

the foul by mccarthy on saka is one of

21:47

the worst non-red cards i've ever seen

21:49

in my entire life he literally

21:52

[ __ ]

21:53

kicked him just straight up like the way

21:55

you would be if you were a soccer player

21:57

yes that's correct

22:00

you would not you would be the john joe

22:02

shelvey of uh of granite jacka i think

22:05

yeah oh you feel shocked yeah yeah i

22:08

would go a little bit jakka

22:10

i'm calling you lee cattermole without

22:12

the pants pulled up would you stick your

22:13

shirt i like that your pants

22:15

no no i would let it flow oh yeah yeah

22:17

when i played hockey i did the gretsky

22:19

talk but that's not okay um okay i don't

22:22

like i don't like players who's tucks

22:23

their shirts in

22:25

i get no i don't either in football i

22:26

don't i find it i find that appalling

22:29

like i said it's like your mother

22:30

dressed you yeah it's like i see kieran

22:32

tierney i'm like well you pull the

22:33

[ __ ] shirt out

22:35

yeah and

22:36

rodri

22:38

you're running late for physics class

22:39

like shut the [ __ ] up you [ __ ] nerd

22:41

get out um pull your shirt out so a

22:43

bonus a bonus uh europe conversation is

22:47

going to be

22:49

mourinho's uh roma i almost said

22:51

mourinho spurs oh god help me uh

22:54

to be fair let's let's give liverpool a

22:56

little bit more sure salah scored again

22:58

i believe he's on 10 in a row uh in

23:01

games where he scored he's is he the

23:03

best player in europe right now is there

23:05

anybody

23:05

yeah no i mean like we said i think week

23:08

or so ago he's having an all-time season

23:10

so far um

23:12

and it's

23:14

you know

23:15

this team

23:16

reminds a lot of the 2013-14 season

23:19

because like you said they can't defend

23:21

i know a friend of the show bj was

23:22

asking us uh when liverpool stopped

23:25

scoring what's gonna happen they're not

23:27

they're not gonna stop scoring they're

23:28

not going to uh unless they all get hurt

23:30

which is a possibility just like

23:32

if the entire front line gets hurt

23:34

instead and his point there is the

23:36

african cup of nations where salah and

23:38

money do go uh for they're supposed to

23:40

go who scored the goal keita scored a

23:42

[ __ ] worldly and then got done in the

23:45

game so you saw a little bit of both of

23:46

kedah he's just too small and doesn't

23:48

defend well enough uh but

23:50

i do i do i would be worried for

23:52

liverpool in terms of scoring it's going

23:54

to take it's going to be

23:56

a pairing

23:58

that we haven't seen it'll be

24:00

firmino origi

24:02

giotta

24:05

as the grouping

24:06

and maybe

24:07

maybe there's a a a

24:09

a midfielder who can go up front i don't

24:11

know if harvey not jelly

24:14

james miller can play anywhere and do

24:16

anything what are you talking james

24:17

milner starting striker god what a

24:19

[ __ ] legend uh and and maybe they'll

24:22

just go defensive maybe they they'll

24:23

finally accept that um that trent

24:26

alexander arnold is not a fullback and

24:28

he can play on the way

24:29

well for me and uh i mean i'm waiting to

24:31

see if thiago makes that step forward

24:33

because he's never gonna make the step

24:34

forward and now he gets hurt all the

24:36

time wow that's why he thinks

24:39

it's it's they're they're gonna they're

24:41

gonna need to call on some depth uh but

24:43

i i still have more of the way that look

24:46

the way that they have robbo and trent

24:48

playing

24:49

they're not going to be wanting for

24:51

offense even when money and salah aren't

24:54

there they'll have a hard time scoring

24:56

but they'll have a harder time scoring

24:59

but the thing is like i said it reminds

25:01

a lot of the 2013-14 season van dyke is

25:04

not your father's van dyke anymore and

25:06

he may get there

25:08

he you can tell he's still working back

25:10

from the injury though and this is not a

25:11

slight on the guy he had a very bad knee

25:14

injury and he's not a spring chicken so

25:16

that makes sense right um i think they

25:19

have to go i think the key thing for

25:21

them is i don't know how injured gomez

25:23

was but they need a

25:25

they need to spell him they need a more

25:27

athletic they need to do something

25:29

because i think this is the one issue

25:30

that i always have at liverpool and i've

25:32

been thinking about it for years is it's

25:34

still the same group like they might

25:36

show fight but it's still the same group

25:40

and uh it's still

25:41

the same mourinho

25:44

i'm so excited about this graphic for

25:45

those of you listening um

25:48

we've we've put some production value

25:49

into the show today and we've got the

25:51

marine the famous mourinho uh cupping

25:53

the ear uh with mourinho's roma loses

25:56

six to one

25:59

they went somewhere very far away that i

26:01

have to figure out where the hell i

26:02

don't even know where it is i'm looking

26:03

it up now the best part is that uh it

26:06

did not make spurs

26:08

bad loss

26:09

the worst loss of today oh they played

26:11

somewhere called

26:13

a two-named place like brighton and hull

26:15

of alvin yeah is this bodo gimlet

26:18

oh i don't even know but like b-o-d

26:21

hoiberg o

26:22

slash

26:24

it's like it's like somewhere from lord

26:26

of the rings yeah it's bilbo baggins

26:29

gimlet so okay when you look at let's

26:31

stop and move back first let's just put

26:32

it this way this team that they lost to

26:34

didn't have a logo in google search

26:36

no um they do on fat mob but

26:40

the point is that they're in the europa

26:41

conference league which we've talked

26:43

about very sparingly because it's

26:44

embarrassing uh there's two teams

26:47

realistically if you go through

26:49

there's like some that you recognize the

26:51

names of three ren

26:53

roma and tottenham that's it everybody

26:56

else is like maybe you've heard of them

26:58

from europa league that's it

27:00

uh

27:01

two of those three lost this this week

27:04

so it's uh it's anyone's game i suppose

27:07

but it's it's it's a heavily rotated um

27:11

heavily rotated

27:13

side for mourinho um and for spurs um

27:17

but they both go down in

27:19

pretty spectacular fashion specifically

27:21

roma um

27:24

we're starting what was the tweet you

27:25

saw it was year three gets earlier and

27:27

earlier every year

27:29

or every club he goes to i mean yeah it

27:31

took you year three came early yeah the

27:34

town is called

27:35

i just played it on wikipedia while you

27:37

were talking

27:40

and uh it is in

27:43

northern norway which is basically the

27:46

ass freezing [ __ ]

27:48

of coldville yeah basically this is

27:51

where santa is from

27:53

[Laughter]

27:56

right if they are just from the ass cold

27:59

[ __ ] of coldville is

28:03

the

28:04

average let's see let's see the

28:07

daily mean

28:08

in july is 56 degrees

28:12

wow

28:12

[Laughter]

28:14

in july it's so it's [ __ ] cold it's

28:17

[ __ ] [ __ ] cold no wonder you're

28:19

spouting off about his reserve team i

28:21

know he had to [ __ ] go there and

28:23

freeze his dick off and

28:24

that's amazing you know what the

28:26

municipality is located just north of

28:29

the arctic circle just so people wanted

28:31

to

28:32

you know what he [ __ ] deserves

28:34

nothing better [ __ ] that

28:36

his cold heart found a special place for

28:39

[ __ ] grit it's like great town of

28:41

grinch anyway spurs this is where roma

28:43

went to lose six

28:45

one this is fantastic did they go by

28:48

boat like what the [ __ ] were they doing

28:51

and that is far like from rome to there

28:54

is just like from like the center of

28:57

civilization in history to a town that

28:59

when rome was at its peak was basically

29:02

people [ __ ] bears so he went up there

29:05

to the bear [ __ ] town and got [ __ ]

29:08

by the bear [ __ ] yeah yeah so

29:14

jose mourinho yeah just just just

29:17

mourinho i think

29:19

sees that newcastle job

29:22

he sees that it's high profile he he did

29:25

get early chelsea if you remember he was

29:27

the first uh under abramovic but that

29:30

team had finished second the year before

29:32

so let's just be fair about uh that

29:35

chelsea team it was not the same it was

29:36

really good um and so he's gonna go to

29:40

newcastle this is my prediction because

29:42

he's famous uh hopefully and we'll see

29:45

what happens there uh i think he's

29:47

angling for it he literally said the

29:49

other day

29:50

i have a little bit of my soul with

29:52

newcastle because i was bobby robson's

29:55

translator oh my god

29:57

[ __ ]

29:58

um

30:00

there's already sort of a cup final

30:02

feeling with newcastle and spurs because

30:05

of a uh the fact that we were the first

30:07

game that after that b i [ __ ] hate

30:10

their fans we haven't explored graphics

30:12

next we do

30:13

there he is steve bruce is finally gone

30:16

i wish we had a gift that his head

30:18

rolled away oh man

30:20

the higher production value than we can

30:21

afford right now but uh steve bruce

30:23

finally gets the sack um i you didn't i

30:27

felt bad for him um because

30:30

i felt bad for him after i read his

30:31

quote which i have to hunt down yeah it

30:33

was he was called a cabbage head by the

30:35

fans um no he called himself a cabbage

30:38

head no no no he was like i've been

30:39

tired of getting called a cabbage head

30:41

essentially some something along those

30:43

lines but you know he you read that and

30:45

you're like

30:46

okay we do a lot of joking on the show

30:48

we're like that guy might kill himself

30:50

like that's a that's a that's a real

30:51

possibility here like somebody make sure

30:53

they keep an eye on him at all times so

30:55

i'm gonna read the quote it's really sad

30:57

and my quote on our board was this

30:59

sounds like a conversation i have with

31:01

my therapist about how my parents felt

31:02

about me when we get beat i get very low

31:06

and when you're managing in the premier

31:08

league you do get better at dealing with

31:10

it you have to let's see if i can't do

31:12

steve bruce i thought i could handle

31:13

everything thrown at me but it has been

31:15

very very very tough

31:17

to never really be wanted and to feel

31:20

that people wanted me to fail to read

31:22

people constantly saying i would fail

31:25

and that i was useless a fat waste of

31:28

space

31:29

a stupid tactic tactically inept cabbage

31:32

head or whatever and it was from day one

31:41

he's he's now he's now his watch has

31:43

ended now his watch

31:56

he's from the area that matters to

31:58

jordy's because it's

32:00

relative scale it's in the middle of

32:02

nowhere for england but it's really just

32:03

like it's the difference between

32:05

england's bear [ __ ] yeah yeah yeah

32:07

england's bear [ __ ] um

32:09

but the thing was was that he managed

32:11

sunderland and once he did that he's

32:13

immediately disqualified from anything

32:16

resembling newcastle this is like blood

32:18

feud beyond blood food what would be a

32:20

good example it's like a college

32:22

football rivalry that no one cares about

32:24

except them in the middle of nowhere

32:25

like boise vs idaho like something like

32:28

that right

32:29

what who cares you have a green field i

32:32

mean a blue field what's wrong with you

32:34

people but it's like that game and

32:35

you're just like why like the red river

32:37

rivalry something ridiculous but

32:40

sunderland new newcastle is blood feud

32:42

and sunderland disappeared they had

32:44

their own show which you know if you

32:46

want to watch sadness at a level of doom

32:49

it hits the sunderland until i die

32:51

documentary on netflix it's so sad that

32:54

it's as sad as steve bruce's comment

32:56

like it's like an embodiment of steve

32:58

bruce being said something's going on in

33:00

that area but anyway they hate him for

33:02

that and he was he should know that they

33:04

were never gonna love him

33:06

for that yeah right that's fair and and

33:08

and rafa was so good at pr

33:11

and would get in with the fans even

33:13

though the football was just as shitty

33:16

he spun it better yeah unlike steve

33:18

bruce he'd be like well

33:20

we were unlucky like no you can't

33:22

[ __ ] keep saying you're unlucky

33:24

like

33:25

change the lock yeah so uh but he's

33:29

loved by his players alan say maxum man

33:31

our favorite player of the year

33:33

um wrote a really lovely piece about how

33:36

great a guy he was of them hugging and

33:38

that that that gave me something like

33:40

the players love you i have respect for

33:42

you but steve bruce 20 years a thousand

33:44

games managed across all competitions

33:47

had some moments

33:49

but i think he's one of these things

33:51

where his generation of manager is dying

33:55

out

33:55

yeah a 442 english blood and thunder

33:59

drink

34:00

and don't take care of yourself

34:02

type of managers yeah look at him

34:05

like

34:07

style of play of sean dyke but i don't

34:09

even think but he didn't have like the

34:11

analytics side like those guys that play

34:13

the simeone style

34:15

they are now like yes we play simeone

34:18

style but we're completely aware of it i

34:21

think bruce was playing that way but

34:22

just wasn't even aware of

34:24

what it meant or how it worked

34:27

he was like this is how we play blah

34:28

blah blah because we're not good enough

34:30

whereas daish is like we're not good

34:32

enough this is how we play versus yeah

34:34

this is how we play because we're not

34:35

good enough versus we're not good enough

34:37

this is how we play i know that's like a

34:39

little difference but it's it's an

34:41

important one it's like he's not even

34:42

aware of how bad they are yeah they just

34:45

play that way

34:47

sean dyche doesn't have anybody the

34:49

caliber of alan st maximin not even

34:52

at all if he did

34:54

if he did he might let him be free but i

34:56

think he doesn't want him i think he

34:58

likes these guys that are all filled

35:00

with muscle and makes them all wear ties

35:02

because that's just

35:03

and that's the last time we're going to

35:04

talk about burley uh for the rest of the

35:07

year uh do we do we wanna until they

35:09

take points off one of our teams and we

35:11

curse and scream do they wanna do we

35:12

wanna talk about joe

35:14

yeah how's joe doing joe

35:16

joe of attitude of gratitude we don't

35:18

have our banners anymore we love joe

35:20

he's helped mike afford his wedding he's

35:23

helped me start saving money for

35:26

aveline's eventual therapy

35:28

so joe of attitude

35:30

gratitude consulting has been a wonder

35:33

he's more in the tactical sense he's

35:35

your he's a very

35:37

he's the pep guardiola of finding money

35:40

that you need very adept very intense

35:43

make sure that you take care of

35:44

everything you need make sure you're not

35:46

paying more make sure you're not double

35:48

dipping like hey your youtube

35:50

subscription and your sling tv

35:52

subscription has an overlap of 80

35:54

channels why don't you just get rid of

35:56

one of them

35:57

what a great idea so

35:59

he really asks you those questions to

36:01

help you find the money you need to save

36:03

money and move yourself forward so check

36:05

out joe

36:07

attitude of gratitude

36:08

consulting dot com and let him know that

36:12

the chop sports media group sent you to

36:15

him

36:16

in new jersey

36:18

where chops is

36:20

still

36:21

all right now back to the football um we

36:23

have a

36:24

we have a friday game we are excited we

36:26

do know we do we

36:28

this yeah we might dip in and out of the

36:30

best bet segment at this point because

36:31

yeah i think you're right i think

36:33

there's

36:34

it's weird uh

36:35

i'm almost telling you not to watch the

36:37

games on saturday because there's not a

36:40

whole heck of a lot of interest there um

36:43

but

36:44

friday sounds fun

36:46

and i disagree sunday watch all the

36:48

games they're [ __ ] awesome football's

36:49

awesome i'm an advocate

36:52

yeah that's fair all right but um yeah i

36:55

i think that um arsenal versus aston

36:58

villa

36:59

uh

37:00

tomorrow well friday 3 p.m get your

37:03

weekend started early now you know here

37:06

here's the thing right arsenal played on

37:09

monday

37:10

pulled it out of their ass late

37:13

now they don't have european games i

37:15

understand that that's fine

37:17

but to have to play on a monday and then

37:20

a friday is weird

37:22

that's two

37:23

out of the ordinary games that you would

37:26

not play at that time at a normal time

37:28

yeah so not so much that they can't do

37:30

it but that it's unusual

37:33

makes me feel

37:35

like arsenal

37:37

could be in trouble in this game

37:40

i think they could be in trouble because

37:41

ville is a better team than them um

37:44

yeah but they are at home and they're at

37:46

home you know arsenal at home is a

37:47

pretty good bet but they have not been

37:50

playing well and i think that frankly

37:54

you know crystal palace should have won

37:57

that game they were a goal they lost in

37:59

the final minute and my favorite player

38:02

outside of allen say maxima they are the

38:04

yin and yang one is a white blonde

38:06

haired guy and the other one is a black

38:08

french african who wears headbands

38:10

they're like mirrors of each other

38:11

they're the ying and yang of my favorite

38:13

players if they played together oh my

38:15

god gallagher at newcastle please i

38:18

can't even talk about it that just got

38:19

my [ __ ] arms hair standing up with

38:21

those two playing together it'd be crazy

38:23

anyway um but villa

38:26

are plus three favorite plus 300

38:29

underdogs that's ridiculous that's a

38:31

little silly

38:32

like nobody should be a plus 300

38:35

underdog against our arsenal just no

38:38

they're not good enough to get that much

38:40

respect

38:41

look villa's been waffling we were high

38:44

on villa i don't remember

38:46

they've had some top like they just

38:49

got their teeth kicked in against

38:52

wolves it was really bad yeah that was a

38:56

really bad loss and maybe that's where

38:57

the plus 300 is coming from i think the

39:00

biggest miss we had

39:02

about players and teams so far probably

39:04

was villa but as a relate

39:06

as it relates to it emmy bondia hasn't

39:09

been what we've expected to be

39:12

playing he has well he hasn't that's the

39:14

point is that he while he's done a lot

39:16

of that traveling that i complained

39:17

about all the spurs players doing but

39:19

yeah even early he wasn't taking games

39:21

by the scruff of the neck like you were

39:22

sort of waiting for him to do and we're

39:24

not saying against giant uh competition

39:28

here against

39:29

you know the wolves of the league right

39:31

that's a game and i'm not saying he

39:32

didn't play against again but like he

39:34

should be much more of a staple and if

39:36

he was early on he would have been

39:38

playing more

39:40

so yeah i think i think the big issue

39:42

for them was they were trying to

39:44

integrate bayley and he got hurt after

39:46

they won that game

39:47

when dia has been playing

39:50

more

39:51

uh but i don't think he's come

39:53

necessarily to affect them just yet

39:57

and the partnership between watkins and

40:00

um

40:02

between watkins

40:04

and ings is not really materialized but

40:06

the best player on villa is john mcginn

40:09

so please keep an eye on him he plays

40:12

sort of the box to box

40:14

midfielder uh with louise who's a holder

40:17

and i still really like villa it's just

40:19

i think they just need a little bit more

40:21

time it's hard to integrate

40:23

and change the way you play from

40:25

greelish who basically dominated the

40:27

ball non-stop yeah and slowed everything

40:29

down if you watch city you kind of can

40:31

go [ __ ] will you just move the ball

40:33

uh and buendia will get there but right

40:36

now mcginn's been keeping them afloat

40:38

uh they've been having defensive issues

40:40

it feels like tyrone ming's makes a

40:42

stupid mistake every game

40:44

uh and they they really shouldn't have

40:46

lost to

40:47

uh wolves bad goals a deflected goal off

40:51

the ass into on a free kick in the 95th

40:54

minute is what did them in

40:56

but uh you know

40:59

we shall see the prediction by who

41:01

scored is a two-two draw which uh that'd

41:04

be fun

41:05

um would be awesome yeah exactly one

41:07

thing that's important to note and i

41:08

don't know if that accounts for this but

41:10

according to dean smith bertrand troyer

41:13

and

41:14

um leon bailey will be in the squad will

41:16

they start that's a good question um but

41:19

will they will they

41:20

you know they will be in the squad so i

41:22

think that that's a boost that villa

41:23

desperately needs uh yeah just something

41:26

else something to break down and so um

41:28

i'm i mean i'm riding with you on villa

41:30

i know that's one of your best bets but

41:32

i'm doing it too and then

41:34

tierney and saka are both

41:36

unavailable and basically that's

41:38

arsenal's offense exactly

41:40

so i i'm i'm going in and again

41:44

you kind of have to play how the bounces

41:46

go right arsenal got a bounce last time

41:48

that they didn't deserve so that they

41:51

there's nothing

41:53

like they get their comeuppance like the

41:55

premier league

41:56

does not mess around except for

41:58

liverpool which i guess is undefeated

41:59

cosmically all the time but like if you

42:01

get one you're going to lose one

42:03

somewhere down the line pretty soon it

42:05

did 96 people's lives

42:08

jesus christ

42:10

so so that's going to be the good one i

42:12

think so it's just it's just kind of

42:13

payback right it's right they did

42:15

sacrifice a lot to the football they did

42:17

they did literally

42:20

horrible horrible

42:22

horrible even listen i'm a [ __ ] i'm a

42:25

scum come at me liverpool fans that's

42:27

true

42:27

um again i'm not really all that and

42:30

thrilled like thrilled with the saturday

42:32

slate uh aside from the late game which

42:34

is brighton man city which i'm gonna let

42:37

you have a moment that i mean that's but

42:38

the thing is so to most people that game

42:41

means nothing right that is a game that

42:44

that no one cares about except me right

42:47

that is a fun game last game of the

42:49

season after city had won the league

42:51

brighton did win this game 3-2 it was a

42:53

barn burner i am less

42:57

sorry

42:58

i am

42:59

[Music]

43:00

less enthralled with brighton without

43:03

basuma who is apparently out on bail and

43:06

training oh my god

43:09

uh because i'm really following this i'm

43:11

like reading the [ __ ] brighton argos

43:13

the local newspaper to try and find out

43:16

when like

43:18

so because i'm i feel bad like i really

43:20

had a lot invested in him and he

43:22

apparently

43:23

committed assault in a

43:29

you know i hope it didn't happen he was

43:30

arrested they're still investigating i

43:33

don't know how that works like don't you

43:35

just know

43:36

uh but i do i do i'm giving him the

43:38

benefit of the doubt and i am going on

43:40

the uh being black in england uh defense

43:44

like they just kinda arrested us just

43:45

because

43:46

just cause he's like i'm french this is

43:49

how we do things so i don't know what's

43:51

gonna happen with basuma but without

43:53

basuma

43:54

that team is not going to be able to do

43:56

what i thought it could do nah and so

43:59

but they're still playing well they're

44:00

still in the top four still

44:03

so it is a top four clash

44:05

it quite literally is that's fair

44:08

cannot take that away from you and i'm

44:10

afraid uh you know they have players

44:12

they get into position this is a perfect

44:15

example between united and brighton

44:17

brighton are not as talented as united

44:20

not even one player would get into the

44:22

united starting 11 not one

44:25

not even on their bench

44:27

but they have a coach they have a way to

44:29

play they know what they're gonna do

44:31

outside of the top four they are the

44:33

number one passing team in terms of

44:35

total passes they have a way to play and

44:38

if you [ __ ] up

44:41

they will beat you

44:42

trossard will put a weird goal on you

44:44

and you'll be like how the [ __ ] are we

44:46

losing to brighton then secretly they

44:48

actually have a good defense

44:50

it's not all offense uh they they sold

44:53

ben white who actually is a liability on

44:55

defense don't tell anybody and replaced

44:57

him who with a defender who they had had

44:59

on loan and we're just like oh we set

45:01

you on loan because we wanted to show

45:02

off ben white and now they bring um duff

45:05

and dunkey duffett dunk and duffy are

45:07

back together again and kick an ass the

45:10

way they always were so

45:13

we'll see what happens if lampd can come

45:15

back i think

45:17

then i'll be back in love with uh with

45:19

brighton but i am worried for my friend

45:20

basuma because he was

45:23

like

45:24

he was the guy that spurred me he either

45:26

united cry for he's the guy that if

45:29

fernandinho goes city should grab him

45:32

he's the guy who's like that next

45:35

big

45:35

strong

45:36

french defensive midfielder who's

45:39

cultured on the ball and just needs to

45:41

add goals and instead he added prison

45:44

and so that's

45:47

bad yeah i love him

45:51

uh i'm gonna go right into my bets

45:54

because um i just think it's time we're

45:56

just gonna blast through them

45:58

so

46:00

the first bet is a little bit of a

46:01

tricky one uh actually let's go with the

46:03

villa villa plus 300 is a slam dunk i

46:06

think that dean smith is a good coach he

46:09

will push this team forward they'll get

46:11

that win in arsenal i mean i could do

46:14

draw no bet maybe down the road but i i

46:17

like villa plus 300 to win outright away

46:19

from home especially without saka and

46:22

tierney then i took a love bet i took

46:25

brighton plus one

46:27

at plus 130 so that means that brighton

46:29

has a one goal lead going into the game

46:31

automatically city have to win by more

46:33

than one

46:35

scary then for the united game

46:38

i am giving a hat tip and a

46:41

acknowledgement that they do fight to

46:43

the end and they do have cristiano so i

46:45

have united to score last at plus 110

46:48

win or lose i love the prop i love that

46:51

yeah and then the other one is

46:54

liverpool to be drawn at halftime and

46:57

then win in the end at plus 500. so i'm

47:01

a big fan of that i like to do those

47:03

every so often it's and the important

47:05

thing about that is

47:07

draw at half time is arguably the most

47:10

likely outcome just because and and in a

47:13

in a

47:14

liverpool man united game maybe not

47:16

necessarily but well historically it has

47:18

been but the way these two teams are

47:19

playing now is a little different yeah

47:21

yeah i just um

47:24

i enjoy

47:25

like watching

47:27

a zero zero like that's it's almost so

47:30

predictable you're like all right these

47:32

teams are going to turn on the second

47:33

half they're going to come out they're

47:34

going to be sluggish they're going to be

47:36

you know kind of discombobulated and you

47:38

can get that value and it's effectively

47:40

like a mini parlay right um it's a mini

47:43

it is a mini parlay yes right so you've

47:45

got draw and then liverpool to win plus

47:47

500 throw some shackles on that i like

47:49

that a lot yeah now the only the only

47:51

thing i'm concerned about with this draw

47:53

liverpool win is how bad united are in

47:56

the first half of games right which is

47:58

why i took the united to score last bit

48:00

so it's almost a hedge within it

48:02

yeah

48:03

because you know they'll they'll they

48:05

may come out get the doors blown off

48:08

them in the first five minutes 10

48:09

minutes and then have to fight their way

48:11

back at the end of the game to get the

48:13

draw so

48:15

i'm not sure if how that will work but i

48:17

did like the it was juicy at draw

48:20

draw win plus 500 is just that's a big

48:22

number oh absolutely

48:24

and then what else did you have that is

48:26

that all the the brighton plus one plus

48:28

130 so right so right now getting a goal

48:30

to start the united last score and then

48:33

yes that's right that's right and so for

48:35

me i like i said i've been talking [ __ ]

48:37

about saturday uh and the slate but

48:38

sunday's great um you've got west ham

48:40

and spurs and bradford lester

48:43

simultaneously we almost had a brentford

48:45

free pod

48:47

almost almost um i'm

48:50

going to go

48:52

i'm going to parlay the over on both

48:54

games west ham spurs and brentford

48:57

lester both why would you why do you why

48:59

do you like west ham spurs as an over

49:02

because spurs are going to give up a

49:04

goal

49:05

and they're going to win 2-1

49:07

fair enough

49:08

and spurs

49:10

well yeah that and spurs can't defend

49:12

and west ham just played on thursday

49:15

yeah

49:16

i think

49:17

undefeated in europe the moyes boys well

49:19

they're gonna be defeated on sunday at

49:20

home um i think that spurs win that game

49:23

but more importantly i think the over

49:24

caches and i think that brentford

49:26

leicester city is going to be a bit of a

49:27

barn burner in fact i might watch that

49:29

instead of west ham todd i'm excited

49:32

about that at home at home brentford at

49:34

home really good i do have one thing

49:36

that just popped into my head and oh i

49:38

know what it was

49:39

if you do watch west ham spurs

49:43

just watched declan rice we are seeing

49:46

the emergence of a great

49:50

english midfielder he is

49:53

a guy when you watch west ham and it's

49:55

not your team you go [ __ ] that dude's

49:57

good

49:59

he's everywhere he has a weird kind of

50:02

he looks like he's gonna splatter into

50:04

people he's giant he kind of moves funny

50:06

i wouldn't say he's fast his gate is odd

50:09

so he has a he does catch the eye he

50:12

doesn't look

50:13

like a footballer he's kind of tall

50:16

no so he's the same size as pogba but

50:19

runs

50:20

he looks like a guy he looks like a

50:21

tight end

50:22

yeah he's kind of goofy

50:24

and uh he loves it he clearly plays for

50:26

the shirt he and mason mount were both

50:28

in the chelsea youth squad together and

50:31

and he had to move on i do have

50:34

i have a question for you i don't know

50:35

you try and find this out somebody out

50:37

there trying to find this out

50:39

because i couldn't do it

50:41

i keep thinking about chelsea and all

50:42

these teams

50:44

what

50:45

team

50:46

has the most

50:48

players in the league that debuted for

50:50

them

50:52

the most wait sorry the mo so let's say

50:54

in the league what team has produced the

50:56

most premier league players oh oh i see

50:59

uh no it's chelsea of course it is it

51:01

has to be right has to be

51:03

has to be because they they splinter

51:05

everybody out right like with the lone

51:07

army we talk about it all the time but i

51:09

i wonder if it's united with like the

51:11

one or two a year

51:13

because oh you mean because they never

51:15

make they

51:16

no no i i mean currently like what i

51:19

mean because

51:20

we know the academy produces players but

51:22

are they making debuts in the premier

51:24

league see that's the question i have

51:25

like we can go to the championship and

51:27

we can see this chelsea guys everywhere

51:29

but are there literally like if you were

51:31

to take the bios of every single team

51:34

player in the premier league who's made

51:35

an appearance how many of them started

51:38

at team y so you're saying from

51:41

premier league academies

51:45

well if it's probably really what you

51:46

have if it's premier league academies

51:47

it's got to be chelsea it has to be it

51:49

has to be yeah no it's chelsea

51:51

definitely uh wait let me get all my

51:53

bets who made their new debuts the most

51:56

what team has had the most debut oh for

51:58

their own club or

52:01

that yes they could have debuted with

52:02

their own club yes okay i'm sorry so

52:04

like conor gallagher wouldn't count for

52:05

chelsea he would count for

52:07

uh palace

52:09

but uh see that's the thing right he

52:10

never played he i don't think gallagher

52:12

ever played for chelsea but i would

52:14

count him as a debut i see that's where

52:16

it gets [ __ ] yeah like billy gilmore

52:18

does count for chelsea and he did play

52:20

for chelsea and another one more

52:22

question to your question is it premier

52:24

league or is it english football

52:26

like does the [ __ ] efl cup count

52:29

because then billy gilmore counts for

52:31

chelsea and not norwich right right and

52:32

then like there's a half a dozen

52:34

freaking city players who've showed up

52:36

yeah

52:37

then it gets kind of wacky and you're

52:38

like all right hold on this is enough

52:40

well by the way city have another uh

52:41

foden on their hands well no they don't

52:43

know that's incredible but uh uh cole

52:46

palmer really scored in his champions

52:48

league debut good for him man sort of a

52:50

a havats type tall

52:52

lanky finisher plays a little bit behind

52:54

a striker so city have another one that

52:57

it looks like they're trying to break in

52:59

but we'll see yeah city player is

53:01

breaking through if you think about

53:02

foden it basically took three years yeah

53:04

yeah

53:05

oh god yeah um all right let me give you

53:07

my so again spurs west ham and lester

53:10

branford both over two and a half that's

53:12

uh a partly at plus 2 30. um i've got

53:15

wolves money line uh they're going to

53:18

leads but i still like them to to take

53:20

the three points

53:23

wolves are good they have a better coach

53:25

i think like

53:26

nuno was kind of holding them back

53:28

they're still

53:29

they still haven't performed their xg

53:31

i like the bruno large thing

53:33

uh you know there's gotta be there's

53:35

gonna be a game where someone gets

53:37

triumphed

53:39

that i was gonna i was gonna do priority

53:42

to score in fact i haven't seen what he

53:44

is i'm gonna look at that actually

53:45

because you gotta you just it's gotta

53:47

happen right blind [ __ ] squirrel has

53:49

to find a nut at some point right like

53:52

i'm actually gonna look it up right now

53:53

what is adama triori to score

53:57

at leeds uh goals let's see

54:00

um he is

54:03

plus 300

54:05

come on guys maybe that's something we

54:07

sprinkle a little bit on as well uh but

54:09

you know what i would do try already to

54:11

score and wolves to win and that would

54:12

be like probably plus 500 um

54:15

and then

54:16

wolves expect if we do the expected

54:19

goals table

54:21

it's liverpool city both at liverpool's

54:23

at plus 12 plus 13 city at plus 12.

54:27

west ham plus four brentford plus three

54:29

and a half

54:30

everton plus three and a half wolves are

54:33

in the top five top six

54:36

in expected goal difference so i believe

54:38

that is the if you took their expected

54:41

goals and their expected goals against

54:43

you would get a team that is

54:46

uh underperforming by two goals and you

54:49

liverpool by the way is the best team in

54:51

the league right now no i know but so

54:53

i'm going to wait until the lineups come

54:54

out to decide i might do just moneyline

54:57

i might do triori to score and wolves to

54:59

win we'll see we'll see um but obviously

55:02

i'm gonna wait to see if he starts uh

55:03

and then the last one uh i have to have

55:05

some action on man united liverpool

55:07

right so i'm gonna go with both teams to

55:09

score

55:10

and liverpool to win uh plus 275. so i

55:13

like you said the the ronaldo factor

55:16

this seems kind of wacky another one

55:18

feels like the over might hit but there

55:20

was three and i just

55:22

it was two and a half i'd smash it but i

55:24

i mean three yeah two one two one is not

55:27

is that you gotta go over two one yeah

55:29

well two one like you said two one gets

55:31

you a draw right

55:34

the thing is there is a world where

55:36

liverpool

55:38

just [ __ ] annihilates oh that beats

55:39

the brakes off them absolutely

55:41

um

55:42

by the way i am going to the fan fest in

55:45

la

55:46

oh the premier league fan fest yes when

55:48

is that it will be on sunday

55:51

oh very cool oh maybe i'll be able to

55:53

give a shout out to rebecca lowe we'll

55:55

get her on the show yeah yeah wear your

55:57

shirt wear your shirt

55:59

which shirt the squeaky bum time shirt

56:01

you dope i don't know where it is uh for

56:04

christ's sake laurent you had one job um

56:07

i would i would be remiss uh if i didn't

56:10

mention that in the uh squeaky bum time

56:13

premier league fantasy league um i'm

56:16

eight no i'm undefeated uh i do not have

56:19

the most points though laurent and chary

56:21

have the most points by a khan's hair um

56:24

but we lost again we're we're the xg

56:27

darlings we're [ __ ] kicking you are

56:28

the xd

56:29

yeah we must have blown some teams out

56:31

really bad

56:32

oh yeah you have salah and money like of

56:35

course you do um in the second division

56:37

the b division because we do have

56:38

promotion relegation this year um

56:41

i don't even know how to say

56:43

meadslignika

56:44

is six and two and as poundtown strong

56:47

strong team names uh they're currently

56:49

tied for first but um

56:53

what's the relegation battle like in our

56:56

division

56:57

oh that's a good question um actually

56:59

it's funny to say

57:01

um hank and pete the uh the chelsea

57:04

romans army team they're currently in

57:06

dead last despite having the third most

57:09

points they're actually the xg darling

57:12

uh they're they're brightened

57:14

and they're in the relegation

57:16

yes joe connolly who called you out uh

57:19

had the upset last week he is still in a

57:21

relegation spot um but only by one game

57:24

so there's two teams that are three and

57:25

five and two teams that are two and six

57:27

uh on nine points and then six

57:29

respectively obviously so yeah there's a

57:32

there's a lot more to play for this year

57:33

so the top four might be playing i gotta

57:34

wrap it up or else we won't be able to

57:36

stream this thing
