{{snippet-2}}discuss that… Mike is BACK!!! What’s he been doing? How’s he feeling about Spurs? And what’s his take on the last month?
Match Round 16 of the 2022-23 Premier League season review.
- Manchester City play terribly at home against Brentford, Ivan Toney shows his balls behind two goals (with a chance at a hat-trick) to tell Gareth Southgate he made a mistake in not selecting him for the World Cup.
- A captain’s victory! Martin Odegaard scores a brace and Arsenal will be top of the table at Christmas. Arsenal are 5 points clear and AGAIN stake their claim to the league title.
- Newcastle United show their force and presses Chelsea into submission. Magpies smash-mouth football their way to a 1-0 win vs the Blues 1-0 behind a Joe Willock goal. Newcastle now sit 3rd in the league standings and Chelsea are officially in CRISIS!!!
- Tottenham beat Leeds 4-3 and just can’t be normal. Leeds United (the cocaine club of football) keeps us entertained while dropping the lead 3 times in one game. Their defense is a shambles, but they are fun as F-ck.
- Manchester United win a TOUGH one in London in Craven Cottage vs Fulham. Wunderkind Garancho get’s the winning at the death, from super singing Christian Eriksen.
- Liverpool wins 2-1 v Southampton behind their big man Darwin Nunez who quietly is very very good. Narrative shifts are tough, but he’s the second-best goal+assist player per 90 in the league.
- Other Games:
- Leicester City defeated West Ham 2-0 behind goals from James Maddison and Harvey Barnes. Rodgers’s resurrection continues while Moyes hangs in the relegation zone.
- Bournemouth beat Everton 3-0 leaving Everton right above the relegation zone in 17th. Bournemouth move to 14th place with the win
- Danny Ings scored 2 goals for Aston Villa as Unai Emery got his second straight win in two games in charge, beating Brighton 2-0
- Nottingham Forest take all three points at home, beating Crystal Palace 1-0
